Learning resources that can be used as a reference for the tasks college education majoring in English.


      -          The simple sentence : Independent Clause (IC)
        e.g : I enjoy playing tennis

      -          The compound sentence : (IC) + Coordinator/ Connector + (IC)
        e.g : I enjoy playing tennis however I hate playing golf

      -          The complex sentence : (IC) + Subordinator + Dependent Clause (DC)
        e.g : Although I enjoy playing tennis, I hate playing golf

      -          The compound complex sentence : (IC) + Connector + (DC)
        e.g : I hate playing golf, but I enjoy playing tennis even though I am not good at it.

        The simple sentence – it consists of a noun which is the subject and verb which is the predicate. Subject is who or what the sentence is about. Predicate contains a verb and states something about the subject.

Clause
Clause are the building blocks of sentences. A clause is a group of words that contains (at least) a subject and a verb. Example : “ Ecology is a science “.

     a.       Independent clause (IC)
      Can stand alone as a sentence by itself.
     b.      Dependent clause (DC) 
      Can’t stand alone without IC.
